A Day in Disney World’s Epcot

There is nothing better than getting to walk around the world, eat delicious snacks, drink amazing drinks, and ride some of the best rides all in one day.

Epcot has to be my favorite park in Disney World. Walking around the world showcase eating all kinds of snacks? What could be better? During my recent trip to Disney World, we spent the entire second day of our trip in Epcot. If you are going to Disney World, I definitely recommend going in the slower months (we went in January) and investing in Disney’s Genie+ option, as this can ensure you get to see everything you want to see at the parks.

On our day at Epcot, we arrived at the park around 10 a.m. We were lucky to be able to take Disney’s Skyliner right from our hotel, Disney’s Art of Animation resort right to Epcot. The skyline dropped us off at the back of the park, near the world showcase. This was great because we hopped right off and went right to the Frace Pavilion to wait in line for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. This day we were not using Genie+ because we had a friend with a seasonal pass visiting us. Nonetheless, the wait was not terrible only about an hour or hour and a half.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure definitely lives up to the hype! I absolutely loved this ride, it brought you right into Remy’s world. We rode this ride twice during our trip.

After getting off Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, we walked around the world showcase. We stopped in Japan to get some delicious sushi for an appetizer (since we had lunch reservations around 2:00 p.m. at Disney’s Coral Reef Restaurant). Then we walked over to Norway to wait in line for the Frozen ride! This was only about an hour wait, which was again not terrible. I love the Frozen ride! This is another one that is a must-see when visiting Epcot.

After walking around the world showcase a bit more, we went to our lunch reservations at Coral Reef. If you have a lunch reservation and have someone visiting you that is not part of your vacation group, it is very easy to add them on the Disney App. The restaurant is right next to a massive aquarium tank, it feels like you are transported underwater. We got to see two large sea turtles, one of which was taking a nap. We also got to see a diver in the tank checking up on the sea animals.

I got a watermelon margarita as a drink ($14) and the seared sustainable salmon ($29). We also got the shrimp cocktail appetizer ($16), which keep in mind is very small. This meal was absolutely amazing, I would 100% recommend this restaurant. Our server was very friendly as well. This was the priciest meal we ate on our trip.

After lunch, we walked around a bit to digest, then got on Spaceship Earth (which is just a classic must-see at Epcot) followed by The Seas with Nemo and Friends ride. Then we hopped in line for Test Track, which is one of my favorite rides! After that, we rode Soarin’ another absolute must-see at Epcot. This ride takes you soaring around the world! There are so many breathtaking views to experience on this ride.

By this time, it was getting late in the day. We were itching to ride the Rockin’ Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror, so we rode the skyline to Hollywood Studios to do just that! Also, I forgot how much I don’t like Tower of Terror so I was really shaken up after that ride. If you don’t like drops or anticipating drops (which is the whole point of that ride), I definitely do not recommend riding.

Once we were done with those two rides in Hollywood Studios we ran to get on the skyline to go back to Epcot to watch the Harmonious show. We made a pit stop in Germany where we got caramel corn and a chocolate-covered Mickey Mouse marshmallow. We watched the show near the Italy pavilion. I think that Italy and the American pavilion are both really great spots to watch the show, which takes place in the middle of World Showcase Lagoon.

To conclude our day, we went over to Disney’s Boardwalk for hotdogs, then returned to Art of Animation for the night. We were so tired after this long day, nonetheless, it was the perfect day in Epcot.
