Cape Cod Beach Home Interior Inspiration

Continuing on from my previous post, Cape Cod Beach Home Exterior Inspiration, one of the next steps in the process of my class project was to collect interior images that inspired us. When in a design field, it is essential to gather inspiration images and fuel your creativity through visual assets. As I have learned, the more you see, the more you know. Having inspiration images is a jumping off point to create your own unique design. Also, when applying to the real world of interior design, they are good to have to discuss with your client as to get a better understanding of what they are looking for.
For this project, I had said that the clients where looking for what would be expected in a New England beach home. They are looking for a light, bright interior, with traditional elements and pops of color. The below pictures I believe best exemplify what I am going for in this beach home.
The Inspiration
This first image is of an entryway. I love the idea of a long hallway upon entering, to provide some separation when coming into the rest of the house. I also love the light fixtures in this image.
For the living room, I absolutely love the idea of furniture with patterns and pops of blue.
This chair would look beautiful somewhere in the living area. I believe the shape gives a touch of modern, while the pattern gives more of a traditional beach feel.
I absolutely love this layout with the living room and the kitchen. All of the colors here pair beautifully as well. I appreciate that the kitchen in open to the living space, but there is some separation provided due to the accent on the ceiling in the living area.
Lastly, I love how the trim work in this bedroom is painted this pale blue. It feels very appropriate for the beach and is the perfect little pop of color.
