Fall is arguably the best season of the year. Don’t miss out on all the coziness by not incorporating these elements into your bedroom.

Fall is the best time of the year, with the weather growing cooler in the northeast. Nights and mornings are chilly with temperatures falling into the 50s, encouraging you to curl up into a cozy blanket. But if we don’t take the time to slow down, the season will pass us by quickly.

The best way to fully enjoy any season is by curating our homes to reflect the time of year and just make ourselves feel comfortable. A place in our home that we may particularly crave comfort is in our bedrooms, a place that is sacred for rest. It’s important in this space to find a fine balance between adding fall-like elements while not overdoing it (as a cluttered space can create a cluttered mind). Here are some elements to incorporate this season to feel ultra-cozy.

Knit Blanket

I know you’ve heard this one. But there is just something about a chunky knit blanket that screams fall. The texture is eye-catching on your bed, tempting you to dive in and rest your eyes. The feel of a chunky knit blanket is comforting, often soft in texture and heavier on the body. Knit blankets can be made from a variety of textiles from merino wool, cotton, and other soft synthetic fibers.

Cozy Fall Candle or Diffuser

Cozy fall candles are an essential. For something without the nasty toxins (found in traditional candles) choose a candle from Fontana Candle Company, Spiced Latte or Pumpkin Pie are the best scents. Not to mention that these candles are great if traditional ones give you headaches – thanks to all-natural scents with essential oils. They are safe to burn around pets as well. An oil diffuser is another nice option, there are plenty of scents that are great for promoting sleep and relaxation – such as lavender oil.

Long Staple Cotton Bedding

Cotton is soo comfortable. I have had a long staple cotton fitted sheet for a year, and it is so soft and comfortable. I also just feel like I sleep better in a natural fiber, as opposed to polyester (which is made from plastic). You can also get long staple cotton duvet covers. Long staple is important, because the fibers are longer so they are not exposed to as much wear and tear. I personally use cotton year-round, though some may opt for a heavier option such as flannel in the cooler months.

Wool Rug

Wool keeps in the heat in the colder months. It is also naturally fire retardant (no need for nasty chemical sprays). The material is soft, and would feel comfortable as you step out of your bed in the morning. Wool can look chunky and cozy, pairing perfectly with other cozy elements in you room.

Dried Floral

Dried florals are super trendy in the fall, giving a harvest vibe. They are especially nice to add to a vase and place on top of a dresser or side table in your bedroom. This adds the perfect hint of fall in your room, and often dried florals come in a variety of hues such as browns, yellows, and reds that scream fall.
