How to Spend Two Days in Disneyland
Rides, dining, and other experiences not to miss on your weekend trip to Disneyland.
On our trip to Disneyland, we spent four days total exploring both Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure Park. However, I believe that Disneyland can be enjoyed over a weekend and there is plenty to see for two to three days. Perhaps a weekend where you check in Friday evening and leave Sunday afternoon would be an excellent little weekend getaway, especially if you live driving distance to the parks.
Below is how we spent our last two days in Disneyland, if you are interested in how we spent the beginning of this trip check out part one of this post.
Day 3
On day three of our trip, we started by getting bagels from The Coffee House at Disneyland Hotel, where we were staying. We then headed out to Disneyland Park to spend the day. We took the monorail from Downtown Disney into the park, and immediately hopped on Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, because there was no line.
The rest of the morning was spent going on a lot of the smaller rides such as Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Snow White’s Enchanted Wish. We also tried to pull Excalibur from The Sword in the Stone, but we had no luck. For those of you who do not know, some guests are able to pull out the sword (not all the way) from the stone, so be sure to give it a try on your visit. The sword is located in front of the carousel.
In the evening, we had reservations for a sit down dinner at Blue Bayou. This restaurant is located in New Orleans Square, and is essentially inside of part of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. You are able to see the bayou riders travel down at the beginning of the ride. While you dine, listen to the nature sounds of the bayou, and be sure to look out for the shooting star that goes across the ceiling!
After dinner, we went to Oga’s Cantina to enjoy drinks. We ordered their cocktail tasting, which came with pretzels and cheese. All of the cocktails are unique and enjoyable, I highly recommend stopping in if you are looking for a unique drink.
Day 4
This was the last full day of our trip, and we started out in California Adventure park. Most of the day was spent going on rides again, and hitting some of the smaller rides. In California Adventure, we rode on Radiator Spring Racers first thing and had to wait on a line for a while. After that, we took our time and grabbed breakfast at Starbucks, where of course I had to get an iced matcha latte. After that, we went to Soarin’ and Incredicoaster before heading over to Disneyland Park.
The rest of the day at Disneyland park was spent going on rides again, such as the Winnie the Pooh ride and the Madderhorn Bobsleds (it was nice to see a working yeti at Disneyland as opposed to Disney World). We were sad that this day a lot of the Christmas decorations were down (as opposed to our previous three days there), but if you are hoping to catch them without all the crowds, know that usually the decorations are kept up until around January 7.
We ended our evening on Splash Mountain (since this was probably our last opportunity to ride it), it was a bit cold getting all wet, but it was worth it. We grabbed Dole Whip and then headed back to the hotel, as it started to downpour.
The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast at Goofy’s Kitchen. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and as always, they handled allergies with ease (I am allergic to tree nuts). We enjoyed getting to see all the characters like Goofy, Minnie, Mickey, and Pluto. After that we were off to the airport for our next destination, Las Vegas.
